If a person had predicted my digital marketing freelance career in Calicut a few years back, I would have been surprised. I wouldn’t have believed that I would be confidently making websites and analyzing web performance.
To be honest, this was not in my plan at all.
At one point, I was completely unaware of how websites operate. I used to visit various websites and think, How are these pages connected? How does clicking a button take me to a different page? How do companies get to the top of Google? It was all very technical and complicated, like a world reserved for somebody else.
But the one thing I had was a desire to know. And that desire to know made a difference.
The Curiosity That Opened a New Door
Becoming a digital marketer was not my dream. Also, I had not planned a career in SEO or web design. Indeed, I did not even see digital marketing in my future.
It was just a bit of curiosity that got me started.
I was taking very close and detailed looks at websites their layouts, colors, speed, how the content was structured, etc. Some websites looked very smooth and professional. I’d say others were a bit confusing. I started asking myself questions.
Why do some websites google.com rank? What is it that makes a website trustworthy? How do businesses make leads online?
At first, those small questions were nothing more than a casual puzzle to me, but over time they turned into a genuine interest.
The Place Where Everything Became Clear
My inquisitiveness eventually compelled me to learn digital marketing in a thorough manner at Codebrucke Academy, which is popularly known as one of the top digital marketing institutes in Calicut.

Before that, web designing seemed like a fantasy. I didnt understand the working of domains. I was clueless about hosting. I couldnt even imagine how to develop a professional looking website.

I remember vividly how my first attempts to design something on my own looked. It wasnt great. But it was a start.

Slowly, I kept getting better.
Then one of my best moments came, the time when I built my portfolio website from scratch.
A while ago, just on hearing about the idea of an entire website, I would have been scared. Then again, this time it was different. I figured out how to structure it. I figured out how to showcase my services in the best way. I figured out how to make it search engine friendly.
I put together my portfolio without breaking a sweat, not because it was pretty simple, but because I had changed into a person who could do it.
The moment I saw my website live, I knew it was more than just a page on the Internet. It was the evidence of my change.
Destiny Had Other Plans for Me
The most amazing aspect of my journey is that I never intended to have this career.
Becoming a digital marketer was not my dream. At the beginning, I didnt deliberately choose this path. But fate revealed to me what I was missing.
One thing that digital marketing gave me was something I didnt even realize I needed a profession that combines creativity with analysis, art with data, and ideas with measurable results.
It turns out I really enjoy performance analysis. Awe comprehend audience behavior. I am most satisfied when I assist companies in achieving online growth.

The Confidence I Have Today
Today, I don’t even think about how websites function anymore.
I’m the one who makes them.

Once upon a time, I would wonder, “Can I really do this?” At present, my response is, “Let’s build it.”

The lesson I learned through this journey is that it is not necessary to know everything beforehand. The main thing is to have the courage to discover.
There are times when an unplanned career is the one that really reflects who we are.
And it is just the beginning of my journey in digital marketing.
